dough monkies

Today's lunch was focused around eating somewhere close to dough monkey so that we could sample some more dough monkey desserts.

Nik got the cuervo margarita cake or something like that. It was a margarita themed lime tart. It's a good thing it was sugar around the rim and not salt.

I got the valrhona chocolate mousse cake. Chocolate cake covered in chocolate mousse covered in a soft chocolate shell covered in a little squirt of decorative chocolate. It was chocolately goodness. Next time I've committed to trying the mango mousse cake.

Daryl got the chocolate chip cookie. Boring!

Peggy Sue BBQ

DMC took us out for a mystery lunch today and we ended up at Peggy Sue's BBQ. Catchy name but unfortunately Peggy Sue is just a figment of someone's colorful imagination. Both Nik and David ended up with the 2 meat plates. I understand it was good but, "Not as good as Baby Back Shack."

I was in the mood for chicken fried steak. The squash caserole was tastey but the breading on the steak seemed like it was right out of a shake and bake container.

David and Nik decided they couldn't leave without trying some fried pies so they got an apricot and a cherry pie. Apricot was voted the winner. Next time we come here we'll have to try the onion rings which are suppose to be the best in town.

Masala Wok

DMC got the Lamb Biriyani (top picture), Daryl got the Chicken Manchuria (no pic, i screwed it up), and i got the lamb curry (the other picture). We also got some curry potato dumpling things as an appetizer. Everything was good except Daryl didn't like his Chicken Manchuria.

And then, because Daryl insisted on it, we picked up some ice cream from McDonald's on the way back to the office. Stinking Daryl!

Rockfish

Today we went to rockfish with matt. We would have gone to Masala Wok but matt wasn't feeling very adventurous today.

We had fried calamari for the appetizer.
DMC and Daryl had some kind of tuna sandwich thing (rare). Matt had the shrimp parmigiana pasta thingy and I had the blackened snapper special.
