Cafe Istanbul

Yesterday, yes the post today describes a lunch yesterday, James, DMC, Daryl and I went to Cafe Istanbul to meet Katie. Her new workplace, which is supposedly extra cool, is pretty close to that area of town. The food was excellent, i don't really remember what anyone had to eat except for what DMC ordered. His was notable because it was some kind of mediterranean, lamb, pizza thing and that it arrived at the table later than everyone else's orders. I'm sure he suffered much while we dined merrily. Today (yesterday) was also like Daryl's friday because he had today (today) off. I also want to say that the ice at Cafe Istanbul was very good.

WWFL-West: Phu Lam

There is culinary hope. Went to Phu Lam, a nice Vietnamese eatery in Haltom City, and found excellent Vietnamese food. You'd like it, Daryl. I had the Bun with grilled pork, and saw some excellent dishes. Most notable was two fairly small young ladies of (likely) Vietnamese descent tackling an enormous amount of food, they had a Seafood Hot Pot going, rice, other stuff, and they were chatting and putting it away. Couldn't figure out where it all went.

Sounds like there are more good possiblities out here, and my new coworkers are showing me the good spots. Yesssss!!! Food worth coming in late for!

WWFL-West: Thai Basil

So, there is Thai food in Hurst, Texas. I went out with a few new co-workers and sampled the fare at Thai Basil. Nothing fancy. I had the Beef and Broccoli. It was OK, but probably is not their best dish. This one bears another visit. Hey, it's better than Whataburger.

WWFL-West Scouting Report

A restaurant near work, Coco's, advertises "Chicken Seafood Donuts". Now, lack of commas aside, what kind of combos do you think might come out of a restaurant like that? The possibilities are endless. And scary.
