wwfl - spain

Lunch today was at Santa Pellaia, an old church at the top of a 1000 ft climb. I opted for the 72 mile, 5000 ft of climbing route today. The 112 mile, 7000 ft ride seemed like a little much.

Yup, you guessed it, sandwiches again today. And a banana.

Another day, another sandwich. Today was a recovery ride. 40 miles and 5000 ft of climbing. The lunch stop today was in Romanya. I think there used to be a roman town in the area we stopped in for lunch.

Today's lunch was in the seaside town of Sa Riera. Today's ride was another 6000 ft or so of climbing and 80 something miles. A few 19% grade climbs were thrown in just for fun. Lunch was a little sad today. A kitchen mixup resulted in a pasta shortage so I had to make due with my sandwiches today.

Today was a rest day so we headed to Tossa de Mar for some lunch action. We ate at a beach front restaurant which might have been called Rem Vell (that´s what the sign looked like). I had a tomato & cheese salad, mixed paella, and a coffee pudding/flan-ish thing.

Did I mention Spain is the lunch paradise? Lunchtime from 1 to 4. Well, not quite paradise, that starts a little late for me. Besides, i guess everytime should be lunchtime!

wwfl - spain

Today we had a quick lunch stop at some restaurant somewhere within 30 miles or so of Girona. I have no idea where it actually is but it was around the 50 mile mark of our 88 mile route with 4000 ft of climbing. Let me just say that this was the best pasta I´ve ever tasted. I was quite hungry. I also had a sandwich I made in the morning. Bread, salami, cheese, onions, sprouts and mustard. It was slightly reminiscent of Jason´s deli but still appreciated when you need it.
